About Ulo Yoga Studio

A sanctuary where mind and body unite.

The Ulo Yoga Story

ULO Yoga Studio was founded on the belief that yoga can transform mental wellbeing. What began as a personal journey with anxiety evolved into a mission to create space for others seeking solace and strength through mindful movement.

The name ‘ULO’ carries special significance, reflecting both the mind (‘ulo’ in Filipino) that yoga helps to quiet and the studio’s deep roots in Olongapo heritage (‘ulo ng apo’). This duality represents our commitment to honoring traditional practices while serving our local community.

Our founder’s struggle with anxiety led to discovering yoga not just as exercise, but as a pathway to mental clarity and emotional balance. After experiencing the profound healing benefits firsthand, she became determined to create a sanctuary where others could access these same transformative practices in a supportive environment.

ULO Yoga is led by Joe Ann, a dedicated instructor whose teaching journey began through her own experience with yoga as a path to mental wellness.

Joe Ann believes yoga should be for everybody and every body. Her classes emphasize the mind-body connection, creating space for both physical growth and mental clarity.

‘My goal is for every student to leave class feeling better than when they arrived—more centered, more empowered, and more at home in their own body.’
